so. i’m starting a weekly-ish project.

i love colors and i love it when photographers incorporate colors into their photography.

so. that is my challenge for the next month or so. incorporate a color into my photographs.

Week one – Yellow
Week two – Blue
Week three – Orange
Week four – Purple
Week five – Green
Week six – Red
Week seven – complementary colors
Week eight – monochromatic
Week nine – black and white

So here goes. I will start either this week or next. And yes, I’ll post the results. :]

Boston Harbor

I spent the last week of April in Massachusetts, helping my art teacher with art workshops and the MASS Hope convention. Unfortunately, I was only able to spend one evening in Boston, and the light was going quickly, so I only got a few good pictures.

Boston was amazing. I don’t believe I’ve ever fallen in love with a city quite so quickly. I’m pretty much moving there in a few years.

I had SO much fun with this. The piece of paper is actually a sonnet by Shakespeare that I printed on a sheet of stationary, then I took a match and burned the edges. I love the way it turned out.

Life

So…I have alot of pictures to upload, but I just bought a new laptop and haven’t transferred them over yet, so this rather boring post about my life will have to suffice.

And because I am NOT a writer, and because I LOVE lists, I will do this post in bullets.

This year I am attempting, and failing epically, at a Photo A Week project. I think I have taken lots more photos than I have actually posted (either on Facebook, my DA, or my Flickr), but still, I haven’t been doing it quite as regularly as I had hoped.
As some of you are probably aware, this is my senior year of highschool. I am pretty sure I have a bad case of senioritis, but fun classes (Photo 2, AP Drawing, and Music Theory) are making this last semester somewhat tolerable. I am hoping to have senior photos taken by the talented Katie Jenkins in the near future.
After graduation, my plans are 1) a super rad-tastic (yes, I have been spending a little too much time on the Two Pair Photo blog….) vacation to a destination still TBD (or some other equally cool graduation present), and then 2) begin my freshman year at the University of Central Missouri studying interior design (major) and photography (minor). For those of you unfamiliar with the school, it is known for two things. 1) Being a major party school, and 2) being the alma mater of David Cook (as well as a soviet spy and a self-proclaimed prophet/convicted murderer…) But I promise, the art department actually seems legit.
Oh! Since the last time (I think?) I updated this poor, neglected blog of mine, I have been in two photo competitions. This Photo was a finalist in the first competition, and This Photo won 3rd place in the second. It made me happy.
I have also submitted two photos to another contest, hosted by UCMO. I should be hearing whether or not my entries were accepted within the next few days.
So. I think that about sums it up. But I will post two pictures I took recently that I have posted on Deviant Art. Just because this IS a photo blog. And I know you guys only come here to look at the pictures, anyway.

I haven’t really posted any new photos in quite sometime…I wish I had a good excuse, but to be perfectly honest, its simply because I haven’t actually taken many pictures. I hope to get out and shoot some fallish pictures pretty soon, though. :]
